ST. SIMON PUBLISHING SCHOLARSHIP For This School Year.


Submit by December 31 this year for the following year school award.



ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND REQUIRED MATERIAL:


-To enter you must be a current college student or High School Senior admitted into a college in need of financial assistance to pay for college school books.


-Complete a 500 word comparison essay on the required book to read   TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS: THE POSSIBILITIES AND THE REALITIES.


-"Omansfreeland," (The Possibilities) and "The Paper Bag Test," (The Realities) are presented in one volume, Two Different Worlds: The Possibilities And The Realities. The two contrasting stories transcend the moment and demonstrate how history is the answer to why certain conditions exist today.


-Compare the world and life as it existed for the people in “Omansfreeland” to the world and the life as it existed for the people in “The Paper Bag Test.”


-Answer the question: In the story -how actions or lack of actions can have an agonizing influence on future generations?


-Answer the question: How does the story -provoke thought beyond the possibilities and into the realities?

***Below is the scholarship winner selection process and judging criteria:

Essays will be scored by a three panel St. Simon Publishing Scholarship Committee on content, incorporation of book concepts, and quality of writing. Essays should be properly formatted; spell-checked; and reviewed for grammar, word usage, and sentence constructions before being submitted.
